Мусака

Ingredients
  • Breadsomething (bread crumbs or cooked grain) - this is only to absorb liquid.
  • Кабачок
  • Ground (spiced) meat
  • Tomato sauce (or tomatoes)
  • Cheese (best is фета or other salty, crumbly, white cheese)
  • Yogurt
  • 1-2 eggs
Instructions
  1. thin layer of breadsomething on the bottom - this is only to absorb liquid.

  2. then a thin layer of кабачок - overlap the disks

  3. then ground (spiced) meat

  4. tomato sauce (fresh or reduced tomatoes are better)

  5. then cheese (best is фета or other salty, crumbly, white cheese)

  6. then repeat from №2 to near the top of the dish. on top, layer of кабачок, tomatoes, cheese

  7. top with a sauce of yogurt stirred up with egg (or 2) - this will firm up in the oven.

  8. bake until the top browns a bit. you will want to start with it covered, to give enough time for the кабачок to cook, then take off the cover
