General Tso's Chicken

Ingredients
  • 450 gm chicken, cubed
  • 1 egg,
  • flour as needed to coat chicken cubes.

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp tsp sugar + 3tbsp Mirin
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (Can use lemon/lime Juice)
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp dark soy.

Also:

  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 cm piece of ginger finely minced
  • 2 stalks green onion, chopped 2 cm pieces.
  • 1 Tbsp white sesame seeds for accent topping
Instructions
  1. coat chicken cubes with egg, then coat in flour before deep frying at 375-400F, 190-200C

  2. after deep frying the chicken, in a pan, fry in 2 tbsp of oil, the garlic, ginger, green onion for about 1 minute. add the Sauce, wait until it bubbles

  3. add in the fried chicken, mix until coated and warmed, Sprinkle with the white sesame seeds to serve
